I've said this before but you can do a lot worse than spend a few hours searching through Youtube for antiques' videos. Just this week two super little videos have been posted about the Brimfield Antiques Show in Massachusetts. One features the dealers and another the buyers. They are super!
Over the holidays if you have a little spare time then why not have a look at all the interesting videos posted on Youtube about antiques. There are hundreds posted each week and while some are not too relevant there are always interesting things to see. This video features a trip around the Seatle Farmer's market looking at what collectables and antiques are offered for sale.
Whenever I go onto youtube for a look around at antiques videos I'm amazed at the ingenuity of people in promoting their antique shops. Lady Kentmores in Callander in Scotland has this 4 minute perambulation around their stock. Among their items is a range of costume jewellery including Chanel and Vivienne Westwood. Well worth a look and well worth a visit! I was the 18th person to take a look at the video; I wonder how many people will see it over the years?
A friend sent me this video from youtube featuring a Scotsman who obviously spends a good deal of his time searching out old rubbishdumps. What he has to say about pot lids and his other finds is very interesting, particularly where you locate old dumps. Now some of you may find his accent difficult to understand but it's well worth a look!
As you know I think the idea of putting videos on youtube about upcoming auctions, or antique shops is a great idea. Even if you are not intending buying, some of the material featured can be fascinating. This one highlights cowboy and cowgirl postcards from Cherryland Postcards.
